You have scarcely any idea how difficult and painful the office of the bishop is, especially here in America. Catholics come from all parts of the world, all nationalities mingle with one another and the bishop is supposed to please all, an impossible task. Where are we (bishops) to get strength? Guard the kingdom of the Christ-loving (Pope N), our chief bishop. Pray for the people , intercede for the clergy, protect the consecrated virgins. Unto us all give strength against our enemies and thine, courage to the fearful, joy to those that mourn, peace to the contrite of heart, perseverance to the just. Let all experience Thy protection, Virgin and Mother through whom the nations are brought to penitence, the demons are put to flight, and they that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death be filled with the knowledge and love of Thy Son.
